🙁 The Internet Archive may have some of them!

Yeah, old records like that are generally free if digitized. If not digitized yet, there’s usually a very small fee for tracking them down (small as in 5 USD or about 1 GBP) with the alternative being to go to the Hall of Records. I do wonder if I can track down some of my ancestors. Some of them did come over from Ireland, just not sure when

And the Mouse on the Shelf could also be useful!

Their website is still using old share links? Cool! They don’t go searching for Bigfoot. Pretty sure that’s the realm of cryptozoologists, though 😛

Kind of surprised the organization wasn’t featured in The X-Files. If it was, I missed it. Probably should watch the series again, anyhow. 🙂 Didn’t watch the newer seasons. Watched a few episodes and they didn’t have the same charm so I didn’t continue.

Haven’t really come across anything but didn’t know about the site. Will check it out!

Yeah, clock radios seem to be decreasing in quality. That makes me sad. 🙁 They’re still useful! Not everyone wants to pull out their phones to check the time and they’re great for background noise! Speaking of which, I need to track down a few myself. They’re getting rather hard to come by over here!

Version 1.0 of the Black Wing deck I found online has arrived. I found some more issues with it as I was assembling it. It turns out that a few of the extra deck monsters are impossible to bring out so I’ll tag them for a rework. Already made some tweaks to it so I’ll take a closer look at things when I get the chance and see what else it needs. 🙂

It’s interesting: while I’m a decent programmer, I have a lot of trouble actually doing anything on computers and related devices. Most of it comes from an inability to focus on the screen (this has always been an issue, especially when watching films). Even when coding, I need to write it out on paper first before typing it up. That’s part of why I run so many analysis tools when I pick up a project from someone else. Would say more about the digital transition but that’s a topic for another thread!

Anyways! While the card database is helpful, it’s difficult for me to come up with a coherent strategy unless I have the physical cards. Playing online is okay but I have times when I simply can’t focus and screw up royally (no offense to royalty!). 😛 Definitely have fewer issues with the physical game 🙂

Side note: I really need a new programming project. Beginning to feel up to coding again 🙂

Good way to populate a flea circus, though! Always good to have a flea market around 😀

My grandfather used to say that he felt that the psychics didn’t need signs telling them about their annual meeting 😛

Well, a disco ball would go perfect in the Falcon! 😀

I think I’ve seen some similar films that used disco for the soundtrack. It was pretty fun in a campy sort of way

The original three films felt like they were being made up as they went along. All of the later prequels and sequels had to retcon so many things 😛

Yeah, the first Vacation film is rather slow but the rest of the films in the series are fabulous! Just finished rewatching them recently. Haven’t seen Vegas Vacation, though, so I can’t give an opinion on it

    😀

Yeah, my mom complains about the image quality all the time! 😛

Yeah, we had similar migration issues with IPS 4 back at DC but, with a much smaller site, it was much easier to work through the issues. Not everything converted nicely but uploads being down is a big problem!

Got my subscription to Nature! First issue should arrive in the next couple of weeks and then I’ll be getting an issue a week!

It’s always nice to get ahead in life. It’d be hard to see otherwise!

They’re also working on burrowing robots to explore the moons. If they make them bigger or modular (as we know, I like modular space technology and wish it’d be used more), they could also be used to carve out dwelling space. Of course, the travel would need to be figured out but the dwelling area would at least be already prepared, providing a bit of a leg up. 🙂

Yep! Very cool! Came across it myself. The mouse needs a name! Any ideas?

Looks like my library card expired. Tried logging out and logging back in to the service, which is when it told me it expired. It would be nice to know these things before they happen! Been trying to figure out why I haven’t been able to get books for a month. 🙁 I’ll get it taken care of next week 🙂

You’re not missing much! One feature of CEC is that it’s supposed to sync up the video modes to help them play nice. I have my TV set to a specific mode for eye comfort and at 4k but the Roku, which I had manually set to 4k as I didn’t like the look of how my TV presents 4k HDR, keeps wanting to flip back to Automatic which sets it to 1080p Dolby Vision when CEC is on. Definitely a Roku software bug but CEC doesn’t work all that well. And you still need all of the remotes since they still don’t come up with the ability to control the other devices in full even though they include the buttons. 😛

Rewatched Star Wars: A New Hope to test out the speakers and the more I watch it, the more the nonsensical things in it bother me. All of the plot holes, the British accents nowhere near Earth, the use of distance for time….The list goes on! 😛

I love the bulk aisles! They even sell spices in bulk, which is nice. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with grinding my grains to make flour and it tastes quite different from the store bought flour but in a good way! 🙂

Cool! Probably a bit involved for my decorating skills but amazing! I’ve seen cakes made up like steaks, sandwiches, and more! Always enjoy watching them come together!

We have a local grocery store that sells everything, including tubs of lard that can’t be found in regular grocery stores. I can also get produce there that I can’t get anywhere else, such as bitter melon. Only store in town that sells rhubarb 😀

Big fan of bran muffins here. I usually make them with flaxseed meal instead of eggs and they’re delicious! Unless you mean raised muffins. Very much like them but every time I make them I wind up scorching them 😛

Mixer’s on the fritz, sadly. I have a KitchenAid and the new ones use nylon gears and such and I think they’re starting to wear down. Having some issues where they won’t catch properly 🙁

Well, finally got the external speakers hooked up to the TV (better late than never!) so no more garbled dialogue! 😛

Took my dog a bit to get used to it. Going to need to give things a bit of a whirl! Still need to tweak the sound settings to my personal preferences but that’ll come 🙂

May turn off HDMI-CEC though as it’s just as finicky as ever. Good idea but it tends to get confused about devices as it tries to turn them all on and then it cycles through them all as it’s not sure which one to use even though I only pressed the button for one. Had the same issue twenty years ago 😛 May just do everything manually again 🙂

Started trying out the cake recipes and they’re turning out amazing! For the holidays, I made a chocolate layer cake with chocolate raspberry frosting and it was delicious!

Think it might be a reference to this gem 😛 Caught it on the MST3K marathon some years ago 😀

Yep, it’s the best song Futurama has ever done. It’s wonderful!

Lovely! Seriously need to watch that show!

A Zoidberg a day keeps the doctor away! 😀 Of course, he’s not a very good doctor 😛

Yep! I really enjoy the awfulness of them 😛 About ten years ago, I watched The Star Wars Holiday Special. It was quite memorable, especially when the Wookiees were given the equivalent of porn 😛

Yeah, I really need to watch Portlandia one of these days!

Eventually, I’ll get back to anime and other stuff. Don’t know when but I will!

It used to be back in the GBA era (you used to be able to type in the ID from the card to import it) but they got rid of that feature for both Yugioh and Pokemon when they transitioned to online play. I guess they figured that it would give folks too much of a leg up

Yeah, none of those are even remotely similar 😛 Granted, Epic Battle Fantasy was fun back in the Flash game era. Tabletop Simulator has a lot of classics! And you can download more!

    So links!

For Pokemon, we’ve got TCG Live, as mentioned. Haven’t tried it myself, though

For Yugioh, we have both Duel Links and Master Duel. In both cases, they differ from the physical card game due to having slightly different card selections and ban lists (it’d make more sense to keep things consistent but they didn’t ask me 😛 ). In the case of Duel Links, it’s a condensed version of the game to help introduce people to the game

Now that things have started to arrive, it definitely looks like it could use some work. But that’s okay! I had planned to modernize the snot out of it anyways 😛 It also gives me a starting point as I have a hard time following the effects by reading them on a screen, I do better when I’m looking at a physical card. Once they’ve finished arriving, I’ll have a better idea of what I need to do to fix it up. 🙂
