Been a big fan of the site for years. It’s a great way to keep track of some of the more obscure films that I like 😀
I only watched the first six episodes or so of La Brea before I gave up on it. Too much just didn’t make sense! For example, the ambulance landed miles away from the portal (how, they never explained) and was still in working order!
Zombieland was great! Great satire, too, regarding zombie flicks and they even make fun of the infinite ammo trope 😛
Forgot about I know what you did last Summer. Need to fix that!
Speaking of British shows, I need to watch Benny Hill again. That was fun! In fact, there are lots of British shows I need to watch. 😛
The science fiction shows they produce are always fabulous, as well. Canada also has a good selection of science fiction. 🙂
Watched A Christmas Story the other day and it was okay but not exactly my cup of tea. Found it a bit slow moving
Yep! 😀
I usually go west since there are a lot fewer people 😛
In terms of quality, I think the East coast has better quality personally. 🙂
The one I went to the other day had interesting facilities. They hadn’t yet rebuilt it from the hurricane a few months ago so the facilities were still in the marshlands, upside down. Pretty hard to use them 😛
As a result, the beach was empty of buildings! Was quite nice 🙂
Yay! 😀 Sometimes get similar things when I need to work with Microsoft’s software (including Windows). After almost 40 years, you’d think they’d have it figured out by now!
I miss hidden secrets in games where you had to perform a very specific set of tasks in order to unlock them. For example: in Super Smash Brothers Melee, you had to finish the adventure course with a certain digit on the clock to unlock Luigi. In Dungeon Siege, you had to have a specific weapon at a certain point in the game to unlock the chicken room. Those were a lot of fun!
I think what we did was turn off the previous plugin in most places but I’m not entirely sure.
Yeah, I think it’s a side-effect of how they function. Granted, I don’t know a whole lot about server stuff 😛
Could be that the caching only affects the index? I think the previous plugin we used had the same behavior
😀
Sounds good! I may be getting a sub to Nature or Science for my birthday, which would be nice as well. 🙂
Yeah, I miss the RSS days. Now it’s too hard to keep up with everything! I’m finding that it’s much easier to follow print than it is to follow the sites. Most stuff on the sites now is too abbreviated for my liking. They used to be a lot more detailed!
Went to the beach the other day to some sightseeing and some industrious fellow decided to build the Giza pyramid complex out of sand, outbuildings and all. You could see where they had started the excavation for the Sphinx but they didn’t get it built. Quite impressive! Really wish I had taken a picture of it. I’m bad about not getting pictures of things 😛
Making some progress on modernizing things. Got a few structure decks the other day but I haven’t really had much opportunity to look through things and determine which singles I need. Still haven’t come up with an organizational standard yet, either 😛
Been playing Blackwings online in Master Duel and they’re quite fun! I try to pull out Full Armor Master early to provide protection while I’m sorting through the opponent’s play style to decide on my next move. If they’re using effect heavy monsters, I pull out Black-Winged Assault Dragons to create a chain reaction of damage! Each time an effect activates, they do 700 points of damage each. In some decks that rely on effect loops, the result is quite devastating! 🙂
BLOOP 😀
No idea! It’s amazing what the atmospheric conditions do to the sound!
And Ganymede!
Space sounds are awesome!
Lovely!
And, in a similar vein, NASA released audio clips of Mars: https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/participate/sounds/?playlist=mars&item=mars-helicopter-flying&type=mars 😀
I have two but you can add more if you want greater accuracy or a larger playing area.
I’ve noticed that it doesn’t occur as often if I turn the controller on before the computer. This morning, though, it started crackling while the computer was going through POST so I flipped the controller off and back on again and that got them back up and running again. Will need to do a deep dive!
The lights are for the settings and notification to change the filters but my other purifier has an option to turn off the lights! If they get too annoying, I may just slap some duct tape over them 😛
😀
It’s getting harder and harder to get good science articles in the Google News feed. For some reason, they keep pushing political and social stories on me (I don’t care about whether or not someone farted on a plane (I kid you not, that was an article they thought I’d be interested in)) even though I keep telling them to give me science! This AI trend isn’t all it’s cracked up to be 😛
I’m still hoping to get back to being able to post some articles of interest for us to discuss but it’s hard to get them!
Seems to be a bit more inconsistent when logged out but that should be okay but it’s something we may want to look at further if we ever open the forums up to the public more 🙂
Looks like the timing is set in the TTL tab and under Objects (no idea what Objects are in this context)
Got a couple of Coway Airmega 1512s the other day. They work really well but I do wish I could turn the lights off that they’ve got. As it is, I’ve got blue, green, red, orange, and white lights all over now so the rooms look pretty festive. 😛
Will keep an eye out! 🙂
Yeah, it’s weird. Slashers usually have a superficial plot but this one was much better than any I’ve seen in that regard. I also find it interesting that they condemned the reason for the killings as thin.
On a related note, I have an old memory of my childhood of a story of a serial killer who used to keep his victims’ heads in jars because a voice told him to. Does that ring a bell at all? I can’t recall if it was a book, film, actual event, old wives’ tale, or just a disturbing dream
Yeah, we’re seeing something similar here. While the national owners of the network plan out reruns at certain times, the local affiliates are doing infomercials instead for those optional blocks so there’s often only twelve hours of actual programming now starting at noon and ending after the late shows around midnight. I miss catching the early morning reruns on weekends 🙁
I do like OTA as it means I don’t need to figure out what I’m in the mood for. I wish streaming services would add a random feature. I’ve been wanting one for years!
😀
Progress Quest was quite entertaining! Sometimes I’d just sit there and watch it do its thing. 😛
I tried Magic a few years back but I couldn’t get into it either
Jyhad looks interesting, will need to ask around and see if there’s much of an interest for it here. Failing that, there may be an add-on for Tabletop Simulator 🙂
I do have some old Pokemon cards but I never did attempt to play it (Yugioh is more my area but, sadly, the local community here comes and goes making it difficult to play consistently) but could be worth a try.
I do play online some but I like playing in person so that I can be around people since there’s few other ways for me to socialize around here. Not exactly a good town for it and our transportation system isn’t very good. With the way the bus routes are, it’d take me two hours just to get downtown (same as walking) 🙁
Anyways! Bemoaning the lack of things to do is deviating from the purpose of the thread. That and I moan about it too much anyways…. 😛
Eventually, I do need to figure out a better way of keeping track of my cards. Been toying with the idea of entering them into a database (used to keep them in a spreadsheet years ago) but maybe that’s overkill?
We need some humor after the last month of issues! Why did the surf board run away? It saw the irony of the situation 😛
Nope, not silent! And in color, too!
Alice was a combination of both books but mostly the first one. It was really fun! Of course, my mom has always hated it as she never thought that it made any sense 😛
I bring you the Mad Tea Party segment:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkaYamHSyt4
😀
Sorry, I couldn’t find a full clip on YouTube of the scene 🙁
Saw The New York Ripper the other day and, while pretty graphic, it was really good. Unlike most slashers, it had a really deep and well constructed plot.
Lasers! The base stations emit a laser beam on a motor and the headset uses it for positioning. A lot of other headsets use cameras, which are cheaper but don’t have the same kind of accuracy (and can’t be used in the dark). 🙂 The accuracy is much better since I elevated them by mounting them on the wall, which is nice 🙂
Yuck! You’re not using a CRT screen by any chance, are you? Could also be a bad video cable. My HDMI cable on the TV went out a few years back at the same time as the receiver died (was a pain to diagnose as I wasn’t expecting both to die at once) and it caused a green screen as a result (when it’d even show anything thanks to the kaput receiver).
I need to check the wiring on my computer speakers. They started popping a week or so ago only when I turn them on and are now barely emitting any sound. Hopefully it’s just the wiring but I haven’t gotten around to troubleshooting yet.
Mine are usually retail versions as I like to order from Microsoft directly just to make sure I’m getting a legitimate copy. That and I like installing the OS myself to make sure everything is set up the way I like it since I like running several operating systems. 🙂
Yeah, it’s been very wet this week and is supposed to drop to 37F next week. Fortunately, I like the cold weather 😛
Finally got around to watching Snow White even though it’s almost 100 years old. I’m late! 😛
Anyways! It was rather odd. They made the faces of the two main characters a lot less detailed than any of the secondary ones. Wasn’t much my cup of tea but I also watched the 1951 version of Alice in Wonderland again, which is right up my alley. 🙂
She broke so many property laws! Destruction of property, breaking and entering (and exiting), trespassing, and theft (why she’d steal and eat/drink stuff without thinking is beyond me).
The Mad Tea Party was the best part 😀
