You have been busy, has not yet the appetite been sated? πŸ˜›
Saw Natural Born Killers the other day, if you like a discordant cacophony of loud and scream, this is the movie for you. Hints of Pulp fiction in the sets and transitions, garish, violent and memorable, certainly no cure for migraine. Over here there is no urgency in adding it to the watch-again list. πŸ™‚
Coming to the end of Vigil, it’s credible, thought provoking, and tense. That article mentioned reported inaccuracies in dialogue and plot, which didn’t cause to much worry here either. πŸ™‚

The wiping of the post cache isn’t supposed to happen at all when clicking the back button. Didn’t happen prior to June IIRC, so something must have happened to trigger the error handling in Cache Enabler- might have to query them.
Post content is also wiped when this error crops up (also see private sandbox thread):

Had any experience with kmail-lists at KDE? Years ago I purchased some cat collars from BirdsBeSafe which were fine, (the cat back then always found a way to offload them).
Just got an email update from their site about some new designs (genuine), funny they still had this email address as there is no record here of an account registered with them. In case there was, the “Forgot Password” never triggered the activation email. So clicked the “unsubscribe” button, and it got me this!
          Love the font!
Although the font is great, it seems something got mixed up! πŸ˜›

Ensuring an orbital stays in its initial position is challenge enough, so adding/reducing mass to it may add further complications. Then there are other factors to consider like solar storms, meteors, interstellar radiation, and our very own space debris. To produce anything organic on it, temperature control is required, and is a challenge even on a “primitive” model such as the space station.
The depressing news on the space elevator is from Wikipedia:

Available materials are not strong and light enough to make an Earth space elevator practical. Some sources expect that future advances in carbon nanotubes (CNTs) could lead to a practical design. Other sources believe that CNTs will never be strong enough. Possible future alternatives include boron nitride nanotubes, diamond nanothreads and macro-scale single crystal graphene.

Having everything hydrogen fuelled for energy and heat would reduce waste a bit, the problem of waste disposal/exchange is, and will ever be costly and involved. Surely the garbots of tomorrow can come to the party as well! πŸ™‚

Sorry, meant the string “<h3&gt;Header3&lt;/h3>” is expected to transform to

              Header3

              And not:

              “<h3>Header3</h3>”

Edit: What a silly dumbo, that’s the expected behaviour as they are just the escaped characters. πŸ˜›

In any case, the sandbox/test activity will help as H1 and H2 don’t seem to be working at all. For example “<h2>Header2</h2>” gives nothing below:

              Header2

Can’t believe there were xkcd comics that had to be explained. No matter for concern anymore as we have them all explained (mostly). πŸ˜›

Just plug into the caldera and play! Another one is to relocate large scale high energy consuming manufacturing outfits to the volcano, set up a thermoelectric generator, and ring the factory bells. πŸ™‚

On the radio today was Platform capitalism and the curse of “enshittification”, sort of thing I like to listen while roaming, as it were. Has a site, Craphound with a link to the mailing feed with heaps of fun stuff such as Capitalists Hate Capitalism. πŸ˜›

An operating system can provide “support” for any hardware, whether it works under the OEM driver is up in the air. As of last year, AMD don’t have any support at all for FreeBSD, looks a bit better for OpenBSD.
Yes, there’s quite a bit to choose from in code editors, one that also has language support, debugging, and auto-suggest.
Okay then, VR it is, and Windows 11 on the fun drive, thus a not so fun milestone is a VS installation? There hasn’t much doing with VS2019 over here for more than a year, so definitely not a front burner. πŸ˜›
Yeah, tell-tale signs are long read/writes, sluggish system, and BSODS. The mfg usually offer tools that gauge SSD fit for purpose, you could schedule those to run every quarter, for example. The good news (according to a quick Google) is, the bigger the SSDs, the longer they last, and the less they are used (fewer write cycles), the longer they last. Make from that what you will. πŸ™‚

The pebble has regressed a little, the button is a little unresponsive and the movement is less than optimal, could be the cold temperature too. Will persist. πŸ™‚
Made a Puppy Linux USB disk and updated the thread, don’t really know if this is the best for Boot/UEFI diagnosis though.

Happened again today after successfully submitting a post to another thread, so no logout issues. This time, hitting the back button revealed no post content. Must have been too quick for AutoSave, (or something) – changed the interval to 45 seconds.
Edit: Most likely related to an oops in the Cache Enabler Settings. Cached pages now expire 10 hours after being created, before they never expired, so could have been sending expired nonce data to the WordPress engine. The site cache was also cleared when a new post was submitted, now turned off. Cache is now turned on for mobile devices. πŸ™‚

Both showed on Chrome on the tablet, when logged out and then logged in, and now, no edit/reply options presenting, so looks consistent with the desktop.
Could be with all this weird stuff going on there’s some kind of memory fault with WordPress – not an easy one for the devs to track down. πŸ™

On the forums page, just the one search is visible on the desktop – the edit box and a search button above right of the forum header bar. It’s the only one I use and the only one available. Is that the primary or secondary?
The one on the right of the top ribbon isn’t visible to the public, unfortunately, haven’t used it much. No edit/reply options on the desktop for the search hits either, but sure to be useful down the track. πŸ™‚

Robin’s fix was a while back:

                                      4.7.5
2.) Added ability to add topics/replies to main site search

Couldn’t see an option for it in Search Styling, was it somewhere else?

Truth or Consequences is about the strangest one encountered on the list:
“Excuse me, may I buy a ticket to Truth or Consequences?” “Certainly sir, which one would it be?” “Either one.”
For the UK game on FTA over here, Tipping Point, “I can certainly provide directions to the Tipping Point, but first you’ll have to contact Junkyard Reception!”
Glad you did, Pratchett was a true humourist, pity he got the early onset Alzheimers with complications else there would have been a lot more to the Discworld saga for sure!
Going through some of Mum’s books there was a Dictionary of Shorthand, think it was a Pitmans, she was once very good at it, all forgotten now. πŸ™

How strange. On the Android each post in the search results had the edit options – no edit options here on the desktop (Edge). Will try and reproduce.

Yes! Will take a look at that.
Another minor issue is in the search results, when clicking edit in the usual set of post options, you are taken to the post position in the topic rather than the edit dialog.
